Coin-Tinuation

http://www.stonecoldmagicmagazine.com/images/june_2008_free_trick/coin-tinuation.jpgMore wackiness and confusion from the old Stone Cold Magic Book. David Winkler had a trick called “Penetrating Transfer.” I mistakenly named it “Coin Flakes” in the Stone Cold Magic Book. He had an effect that was a follow up to it, that I named “Coin-Tinuation.”

As far as I know David did not have a name for this trick, so my name for it stuck. Below, you will find the original short story that was published with Jason Montoya’s illustration in the original 2002 Stone Cold Magic manuscript.

Coin-Tinuation: Many years have passed since the cunning plans of the evil quarter were thwarted. The time has come for revenge. The evil quarter has devised a sinister plan to destroy the inferior coins forever.

With the help of the “Bills” and the notorious half-dollar that has been shaved to look like the evil quarter, the scheme was completed: a machine that turns pennies into flat, useless, oval-shaped souvenirs.

Now unsuspecting pennies everywhere are being flattened by ruthless humans. Thus begins the revolt of the coins. Because the penny is now a worthless coin, it is up to the remaining inferior coins to nickel and dime the quarter to death.

Will the evil Bills and coins be thwarted once again, or will the nickel and dime, too, become worthless? Only time will tell the fate of this story’s Coin-tinuation.

How entertaining was this “episode”:
