Blind Man’s Card Trick
I think I should just stop publishing these stories. This one’s got a bizzare history that will likely leave you more confused than educated. Allow me to attempt to explain. After finishing Stone Cold Magic Volume I (the book), I began my work on the sequel. One of the effects was called Blind Man’s Card Trick.
To your right, you’ll see the very clever drawing made by my good friend Jason Montoya. Ultimately I decided to not publish Blind Man’s Card Trick. I likely never will publish it. Thus you may recognize the picture as the one used on Stone Cold Magic The DVD.
The image was used for Tricycle because we did not have a drawing for that effect, and Jason was unavailable at the time, so we recycled this image, and it became the official drawing for Tricycle. However, to remain true to the history and root of the original effect and drawing, I present to your The Blind Man’s Card Trick episode of The Saga:
Tap, tap, tappy, tap, tap. A strange sound, that seems vaguely familiar to some magicians, but they’re not sure why. I know why, but I’ll never tell. So for our purposes, we will assume that this is the sound of a cane feeling its way around the card table (what a Bizarre Twist of fate).
That’s right it belongs to the magician who does not know if his deck is red or blue. Or even worse, he does not know if it’s been switched for an evil deck of Hoyle cards, oh the horror . . . the horror. However, this man is different. His fingers are as sensitive as aluminum foil on an open cavity.
Ooh, that gives me the willies. His sensitive touch can tell him what brand, and what color he’s using. He can only imagine the look of Astonishment on his audience’s face when he performs the impossible Blind Man’s Card Trick.
